Workshop Card Number Four

Finally!  You made it to the end of this set of cards!  Today's card is using a special stamp set. Close To My Heart has designed this stamp set to benefit a very special organization called Operation Smile. When you purchase this set through the end of March 2015, Close To My Heart will donate $3 of the proceeds to Operation Smile. Since it's founding in 1982, Operation Smile has performed over 220,000 surgical procedures to correct facial deformities in children! So I just had to showcase this stamp set!

Click below to see the stamp set that has 18 stamps:

You're the Bomb Stamp set

and here is the card I did with it:

I started by cutting out a card base using our Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge

Then using the small flowers from the
Flowers for Mom stamp set I embossed with Gold Embossing Powder three of the flowers.

Then using the solid flower, I stamped in the middle of the embossed flowers with Smokey Plum Exclusive Ink and then I cut them out.

Using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and Olive Cardstock I cut out little vines to use between the flowers.

Also using the Smokey Plum stamp pad I stamped the "You're" and cut out the circle.  Then I embossed my favorite saying from the set.   I put some matching Smokey Plum Card Stock behind the lattice front of the card and then attached all the flowers and the embossed projects.  Added some Gold Shimmer Trim and a few Gold Sequins to finish it off!  I think it is a elegant card to give to someone special!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how to make my workshop cards this week!  Thank you for checking by each day!  It has been fun!  Check back next week for a new card from me to you!  Have a great weekend! Hugs!

Workshop Card Number Three

Today I am using our Stamp of the month on this card.  These stamp sets are only available one month out of the year and if you love them, you must get them that month or they are gone!

Click below to see our limited stamp set here:
Choose Happy March Stamp of the Month

I also used the paper from
Wanderful Paper Packet

I cut the scalloped circle from our
Cricut Art Philosophy Collection and then I sanded the edge of the scalloped circle. Since our card stock has a white core, the sanding shows through!

I stamped the image in black and then colored in with Colored pencils. I then took a scrap piece of paper and stamped it again and cut out the middle and laid over the colored in image and then sponged with Sponge Daubers in Gypsy Exclusive Ink and Crystal Blue Exclusive Ink to give it that nice marbled look.

I took a piece of Gypsy Cardstock and stamped a border stamp from our Assorted Edges Flair Stamp set with the Gypsy ink.  There are 7 images to choose from!
Sponged the edges of the papers, the circles etc. in Crystal blue ink and put it all together. Finished with our wonderful Bitty Sparkles to make it pop!
Thanks for looking and check back tomorrow to see the last card for this week!  Hugs!

Workshop card Number Two

Today is a cute Easter card:

I used the Hopping By Stamp Set

Started out by stamping the cute little bunny on a piece of White Daisy card stock twice in black.  On one of the images, I covered the "carrot car" with our fun
Sunset Chevron Washi Tape and our Topiary Striped Washi Tape and cut the car out.  On the other image, I colored in the bunny and the Easter Basket with our Watercolor Pencils for that nice soft look. I then attached the car that I cut out earlier with the washi tape on it over the existing image and then cut the whole thing out.  I also stamped the butterfly image on a  piece of white card stock and put some Lagoon Hearts Washi Tape on the top and cut the butterfly out.

Then I took a piece of Cashmere Card stock and cut it to look like a road.  Took a black journaling pen to do the "stitches" around the edge. I then attached the butterfly.  Before I glued the cardstock on the bottom of my base card, I stamped the clouds on the top of the card.
Then I stamped the clouds on a piece of scrap paper and cut them out and covered the clouds and then I took a sponge and sponged the "sky" in around the cards and then took the masks off.   When that was done, then I attached the Cashmere cardstock to the bottom of my card and then attached some grass that I cut out with my  Cricut cartridge.

Put my car on the road and finished by stamping the cute sentiments. See you tomorrow!

Workshop cards One of Four!

Good Afternoon!

Last month I did a post showing all of my workshop cards and how I put them together.  This was for my stamp club that meets at my home every other month.  Those who can't come and are members of my club get the cards all pre-stamped and all they have to do is follow the instructions on my blog to see how it is done.  I have come to the conclusion that doing all four cards on one entry is way toooo much! LOL  So I am going to try to do one card a day until they are done!  That way no one has to wade through a huge posting!  Making it short and simple.  And this will be fun for those of you who are not part of my club.  You get to see a new entry (hopefully) at least 4 days in a row!  How fun is that.   So here is the card for today:

This card was created using stamp set

For the background I used the
and stamped the verse in second generation all over the card stock to make it look sort of like newsprint.

I then took the Lagoon paper from the
Adventure Paper Assortment and attached to the middle of the card.  I also added a strip of Lagoon Card stock above that.

I then took a piece of white daisy card stock and stamped the flower twice in black and then colored them in with our

I cut out the black die with our Cricut Artiste Collection Cartridge as well as the circles.  I  stamped the message in the middle of the circles.   I attached the stamped images to the front of the card and finished it off using our Aqua Dots collection!

Remember clicking on the highlighted links take you straight to my website!

That is it!  Look back tomorrow for another of my workshop cards!

Happy 1st Day of Spring to you all!  The grass is turning green, the sun is shining and I see the Blue Heron birds are coming back to nest by our lake and I am excited.  So with that thought in mind, I created a springtime type of card.  With Spring comes showers and this card is for all of those who have stood beside me when my life has been stormy!

On this card I used:

Rainy Day Stamp set

Small Sparkles Black Flourishes

Black Chalk Distressing Ink

Have a great first day of Spring and a great weekend! See you next week!

Be Your Own kind of Wonderful Card

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Monday to you!  Today I am showing my creation that I did this weekend.  We have a stamp set that looks like paint swipes etc.  I didn't like the set the first time I saw it and didn't buy it.  Then I saw several beautiful cards using that very set from several of our talented consultants and I knew I needed to buy it! I do not have it yet but in case you want to see what I talking about here is the link so you can see it:  Brushstrokes stamp set
While I am waiting to get that set I decided to try to "re-create" the set in my own way.  And here is the card that I came up with:

First I decided to give the paper some texture and I used the Scallop Embossing Folder

To get the brush strokes I took a
All Purpose Mat and laid it on my table. Then I got Pear, Lagoon and  Gypsy Re-inker  that match our stamp pads and squirted a small amount of each re-inker onto the mat.  Then I took paint brush and dipped it in my re-inkers and swiped it onto the paper.  Washed the paint brush out between each color of course.

Then I took out the Your Own Kind of Wonderful Stamp set and using the Gypsy, Pear and Lagoon colors from the Adventure Exclusive Mini Pigment ink set I stamped the butterfly in each of those colors and added some Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder to each butterfly and embossed them.  I cut them out and attached to card.  The shape was cut out with our Cricut Artiste Collection Cartridge and I finished up the card with some Sparkles Clear Assortment.  Put it all together and I was done.   I really like this card.  So bright and pretty!  Have a great week.  See towards the end of the week with another card to share!

Spin Card

Happy Friday!
This week has just flew by and I get to show you a card that I made this week.  It is a spin card.  I have had a package of these cards just waiting to be used!  And a cute stamp set that I just love.  When my kids were little we did a lot of camping and there are lots of fun memories of all of those trips.  So I decided to make a spin card with the camping set.  Here is the front of my card and scroll down to see the inside:

I used the following Close To My Heart Products to make this card:

Brushed Paper Packet

White Daisy Spin Cards and Envelopes set

Camper Crazy Stamp set

Silver Sequins
These were colored with our wonderful ShinHan Markers

Stuck on you puffies
These are only available until the end of this month!

I don't normally finish the inside of a card but because you can see through it, I knew it needed something!  And if you look on the back of the spinning circle is another camper from this same set..so fun!

Have a great weekend everyone!  See you next week!

Sailing Card

Happy Monday!

When our annual CTMH catalog arrived and I saw this paper, I fell in love with it and just "had" to have it! I could visualize all kinds of pretty things I could make with this paper.  So I finally sat down this weekend and made up this card.  It was really easy and I love how it turned out. The papers seem to just go so well with the theme of the card!

I used the beautiful Seaside Paper Packet

I used Desert Sand cardstock and the Desert Sand Exclusive Ink Stamp pad

I used the Seaside Greetings Stamp set to stamp the boat.  This set has 7 stamps and you could easily change the Thinking of You to the Birthday Wishes and have a wonderful card for a man.

I then added some Artisan Studs for some embellishments as well as a bit of Neutral Metallic Bakers twine
to finish it off!

Thanks for looking and see you later on in the week!  Hugs!

St. Patrick's day card

Happy Friday everyone!

Today is a St Patrick's day card that was fun to make. I used our newest Cricut Cartridge that makes cards!  Our Artfully Sent cartridge has more than 25 card themes, cut outs, pop up card, sleeve cards and much more!

Did you know that Close To My Heart has four exclusive cartridges that have over 700 images on each cartridge that you can cut out?  Did you know that there are a number of shapes that correspond with our stamps, so all you have to do is cut it out, stamp the image on the piece you cut out and then you are done!  And each stamp set tells you which cartridge to use, how big to cut the image and what page to find the image on the cartridge!  Such a time saver and it gives you extra time to create even more beautiful cards!

Here is my card:

Products I used:

Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge

Green Glitter Paper

Topiary Card Stock

Matching Topiary Mini Chevron Ribbon

Holiday Tags with 22 stamps

Bitty Sparkles embellishments

20 Years Ago Please read about my Journey!

Happy Monday and Happy March

I can't help but think that Spring is around the corner and I am looking forward to it but until then, let me tell you a story of 20 years ago.
Back then I was a stay at home mom to my wonderful 3 and 6 year old boys.  I was invited to a party (stay at home moms get invited to lots of parties LOL) and it was a DOTS party.  DOTS stands for Dozens Of Terrific Stamps.  When I saw all of those really cute little stamps, I was hooked.  I wanted to become a consultant for this fun little company.  Little did I know that I would continue as a consultant for the next 20 years and the company would grow and grow to become a company called Close To My Heart that has consultants in the United States, Canada and Australia!  I have made lifelong friends and grown more than I could have imagined!  It has been an amazing journey!

This is the very first stamp I bought just before I became a consultant with DOTS/Close To My Heart.   I couldn't resist digging it out and making a card once again. And because my dear friend Tami believed in me enough to let me do my very first party and begin my consultant journey with her, this card is for you!

If you have ever thought about joining Close To My  Heart this the month to do it!  We have an amazing deal going on now that will  really wow you!  Click on the link below to see the deal:
