Workshop Card #4 For September

Here is today's card:

As I have mentioned in my previous posts, I dislike making Sympathy cards but this one came together quickly for me.  Now if you don't want to make a sympathy card you can add a different sentiment and it will be just as pretty.

For this card we are using the Stamp of the Month.  Close To My  Heart has stamp of the month sets that are only available for a certain month and then they are gone!  You still have time to purchase this one before the end of the month if you are inclined to do so!  Here is a picture of what the entire set looks like and I love it:
Paper Garden September Stamp of the month

For the Sympathy Sentiment I used Sincere Expressions Stamp Set.

To make this card:
I took a piece of white daisy card stock and stamped the background flower image in Whisper Ink as well as the background under the Sympathy sentiment.

I then took our new Sapphire Ink Pad to stamp the front flower and the sentiment.   I then bordered them in our new Sapphire Cardstock.
Then took two of our Enamel & Glitter Duos Blue Dots to finish up the card.

Simple and Elegant!

Thanks for checking in!  Have a great day!

Workshop Card #3 For September

The card I am sharing today is a fairly easy card to do but I think it turned out very pretty!

I used  two stamp sets for this card. The first one is a new set called Fallen Leaves and other set is called Thankful Heart.

I took a piece of colonial white cardstock and one of the leaves from the Fallen Leaves set and stamped the background leaves in Bamboo Ink.

Then using the Gold Embossing Powder, I embossed the Thanksgiving sentiment.  Then I took a scrap piece of cardstock and embossed the other various leaves and the pumpkin from the above sets.

I then took our new Watercolor paints to paint in the leaves and the pumpkin.  I am having fun learning how to use these paints!

I did not emboss the leaves onto watercolor paper because I wanted the leaves to "curl" up on the edges etc. because that is what Fall leaves do!  I cut them out and attached to the card.  I added a few of the Gold Sequins to finish the card.

Workshop Card #2 For September and Bonus card

Today I get to show you another card that we did for my workshop!  In the new Close To My Heart Expressions supplement there is a stamp set called Steampunk Scoundrels.

I don't normally lean towards these type of stamps but somehow I found this set fascinating and couldn't resist making a card with it! The set has everything listed here as well as a cute "BOO".  Check it out here:
Steampunk Scoundrels Stamp Set

For this card, I started by taking a piece of the new Eggplant Cardstock and the matching Eggplant Ink, I stamped the background with our new Ink Blot Stamp set.  I have a feeling that I am going to have a lot of cards in the future using this ink blot set.   Super easy to use and so fun..can you even imagine all the things you can do with this?                                                                                           How about doing a background in bright colors on scrapbook pages for school pages or writing awards ?

I then took out the new Nevermore Paper Packet and cut two pieces  of paper.  I took my Micro-tip Scissors to distress the edges of the papers and the cardstock to give it a more "Halloween" type of look. Now if you don't want to use the scissors to distress, there is a cool tool called Edge Distresser that works wonderful as well!

I stamped the bat on a scrap piece of white daisy cardstock in black ink and then cut it out.  Sponged the eggplant ink around the edges.  Added some 3 D Foam Tape to the back to make it look like it was flying.  Stamped the spider and the Happy Halloween in black and attached to the card.  Finished it up adding a few of the Silver Sequins.

Now for those who might not like the above card and want something a bit less scary and more cute.  I used the same above pattern but used a totally different  stamp set.  I used the Trick or Treats Sweets Stamp Set on the following card:

I did use a piece of ribbon that I found in my stash of ribbons from a long time ago instead of the sequins.  I attached it with mini staples using the cute Mini Stapler.

I also used the same paper as above only the reverse side of the striped paper instead.

The funny thing is that everyone liked the first card just fine and wanted to make it!  That is what I get for thinking that someone "probably" wouldn't like the new stamp set above! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and checking this out.  Look for workshop cards #3 and #4 coming soon!

Workshop Card #1 for September

Good Evening!  Today I am showcasing the first workshop card that my stamp club created.

Started with a base of Whisper Cardstock and then added some of the background texture paper from the Zoe Paper Pack.

I then took a piece of Sweet Leaf Cardstock and embossed it with the Confetti Stars Embossing Folder and because the cardstock has the white core, I sanded them a bit to make the stars stand out.

I took a small piece of White Daisy cardstock and stamped the Hello  with the Sorbet Ink from the card making set from the Hello! Life National Card making set and then I embossed it with the above embossing folder.  I attached it to a larger piece of Sorbet Cardstock.

Using the above stamp set I stamped the tag with the sorbet ink and to make the "friend" stamp stand out I used the mini Glacier pigment ink pad from the Whimsy Mini Pigment Ink Pad Set.  They are a thicker and brighter colors in my opinion.  I cut out the stars with my Cricut and stamped them in Sweet Leaf Ink.  I used the Glacier Ink Pad to sponge all the edges of the white daisy and the background paper. Then attached all the pieces together.  Thanks for stopping by.  Check back for more workshop cards in the next few days. Hugs!

Autumn Card

Good Afternoon!  I didn't like it when I woke up this morning and it was dark outside.  Then in a little while I saw the most beautiful sunrise!  I then had to acknowledge that Fall  is on it's way because the days are getting cooler and the leaves on our trees are starting to change colors.  So for today, here is my Fall card to share:

I started by using Kraft Cardstock and I embossed it with a Wood grain embossing folder.

I then cut a 4 inch colonial white circle and then I cut a 3 3/4 circle from Fern Cardstock and using our Piercing Tool I punched little holes all around the circle to make it stand out and then I attached  that to the middle of the large circle.

I then stamped the tree from the Always Grateful Stamp set in Saddle Ink on the colonial cardstock and layered it with the Kraft Cardstock.

I then took the Fern Ink Pad and lightly colored it in with a cotton swab!  Then I took the Poppy Ink Pad and using a cotton swab again to give it a little bit of colors to make it look like the leaves are turning red like my maple trees in our back yard!

I then took the colonial white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the above listed stamp set.  I attached that to our beautiful glossy Poppy paper from the Paper Fundamentals Enchantment set and attached to the middle of the circle.  I then added a couple of our cute Durables Artisan Studs to finish the card.
Note:  If you are planning on sending this card in the mail, you might not want to include the Artisan embellishments.  They are heavy and they are sort of thick and won't go through the mail, unless you maybe put it in a padded envelope.  Hand delivering is fine though!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great rest of the week!

Birthday Card with No Stamping

Happy Friday everyone!

Today's card is done by using our brand new Close To My Heart Cricut Cartridge and our new watercolors!  I made two of these cards. One for my wonderful husband for his birthday and one for a dear friend.  I used two different color schemes. I am only showing one of the cards.  The one I made for my husband:

This kind of took out of my "comfort" zone by not doing any stamping on the front.  But it is good to get out of the comfort zone once in a while!

I used our Cricut Artistry Collection to cut out the cake, the candles, the Happy Birthday and the triangle background.

I used our brand new Watercolor Paints to color underneath the triangle cut out.  I attached that to our Sunset Cardstock

Did you know that all of our patterned background texture paper has these cool little strips of paper attached to the top, that you cut off and use for borders, accents etc. and still have the true 12 X 12 size paper to use? We call these zip strips!  I cut the cute little dots off the top of our new Kaleidoscope Paper Packet to use as a accent strip for the bottom of the card.  I thought it went well with the watercolors I used!

I attached a couple of our new Enamel and Glitter Duos Green Triangles and a couple of our cute little White Enamel Stars to finish up the card!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend!

Non Card day

Good Morning Everyone!  The posting today is not a card!  I had so much fun making this project for  part of her birthday present that I just had to share.  Some of the items were in last years catalog and some from the local hobby store.  I have seen other people make this same thing using the same idea and they were much more detailed and very beautiful.
Even though I still like the way mine turned out:

I used the Scaredy Cat  paper (that we no longer sell..sorry)  but if you have some fun Halloween paper, you can cut out stuff from that.  I also used our Cricut Artfully Sent Cartridge Collection and our Cricut Artbooking Collection to cut out the cute haunted house, scary tree and spider web and spiders.

I did use our Black Glitter Paper to cut out the Spiders and Spider web.

I bought the paper letters from the local hobby store and spray painted them black then traced and attached the background paper then had loads of fun cutting out the designs front the paper for the front.  I added some of the spider webbing that you get for Halloween. Now my friend can sit it anywhere in her house to enjoy.  So go dig out your old papers and use up some of your stash and decorate your house!  I hope you enjoyed my "non-card" creation today.  Have a great week!

Card using National Stamping Month Special

Hello!

I promised you earlier that I would post a card using one of the three stamp sets that are being offered by Close To My Heart for National Stamping month!  Here is what they look like:  Hello Life National Stamping Month Sets.  There is one set designed for scrapbooking, one for card making and one for pocket scrapbooking!  I could have used the one for card making since I am making a card but wanted to show   that you can use all of these stamp sets for card making! Today's set is the one used for pocket scrapbooking.

Here is the card:

I also used our brand new stamp set called Fallen Leaves that has just been released.

I used stamp pads:  Saffron Ink PadFern Ink Pad and Saddle Ink Pad.

I used our new Fern color from the Enchantment Paper Fundamentals Collection as a background paper.

Then I took some of our watercolor paper and used our new Watercolor Paints and painted the background colors.  Then stamped the leaves on the paper after it was dried.  Love that look.  I am so super excited about these paints!  The colors are so rich and beautiful!  There is going to be a lot of things created with these beautiful paints in this upcoming year!

Added the leaves and then a few of our sequins and I am done!  Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!  Hugs!

My goal is to have a super cute card made with one of these stamp sets by Friday..so check back then. But until then I will share a fun card that I created.

This card was made by cutting out the image with our Cricut Artfully Sent Collection using Pixie Cardstock and putting our beautiful Purple Glitter Paper behind the cut out image.

I then stamped the Happy Anniversary sentiment using our Finding The Words Stamp Set and the Thistle Ink Stamp pad.

I then layered it on to our Thistle Cardstock.  Finished it by adding a few of our Bitty Sparkles which I now store in our Brand New Accessory Roll Up.  It is soo cute and so compact and handy!

So until Friday enjoy the card and enjoy looking at our new Close To My Heart catalog!  Hugs!
