Another Sympathy Card

I think I might have mentioned in an older post how much I dislike making sympathy cards.  Even though you want let someone know you care and that you are thinking of them..they are no fun to do. Because you know the reason is because someone is sad.  Hoping this will make them feel a bit better!

This is the card I needed to make this week:

For this card I used the
Candlelight Garden CTMH December Stamp of the Month
This set is a beautiful set that has some wonderful friendship sentiments and a Thank you sentiment as well.  Check out the link above to see all the images in this stamp set.

The "Sympathy" sentiment is from a brand new stamp set from a upcoming brand new CTMH expressions catalog coming out in January!  I am a consultant so I get a sneak peek!

I stamped the jar and the flowers with black ink on Watercolor Cardstock and colored the flowers with the beautiful CTMH Watercolor paints , There are 36 colors to choose from!

I then attached the image to Canary Cardstock.  I took the card base and embossed it using the Damask Embossing Folder and then I took a piece of Sweet Leaf Cardstock and stamped the sympathy sentiment and attached that strip to the card base, then I took  the flowers that are bordered with Canary cardstock and using  3-D Foam tape to attach to the sweet leaf cardstock and card base make them pop up a bit.

I then raided my stash and found some discontinued pearl embellishments to add to the side and a tiny one in the middle of the large flower.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hopefully my next card will be a happier card!

Pretty Birthday Card

Today I am posting a birthday card that I made for a December birthday.  I know this time of the year we focus on the reds, greens, silver etc. but I wanted this card to be focusing on the birthday and not the season.  Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and the reasons behind it but it is easy to get involved in that and not put as much effort into cards other than Christmas.  So here is one of the birthday cards I need to make this month:

I used the Kaleidoscope Paper Packet for the background paper for this card.

I used the Artistry Cricut Collection to cut out the frame for the middle of the card using white Daisy cardstock and using Pear Cardstock for underneath the frame. I used Sending Love Stamp Set for the birthday sentiment.  I embossed the Happy Birthday Cheer with White Embossing Powder.  I then used the above Cricut Cartridge to cut out the flowers.  I used Pixie Cardstock and Gypsy Cardstock for the flowers.  For the middle of the flowers, I used my hole punch and punched two quick little dots out of the Pink Shimmer Trim.  I used the cute Enamel and Glitter Purple Hearts Embellishments in the middle of pink cut out flowers.   I also used the shimmer trim and pieces of the pear and gypsy cardstock in the middle of the card.  And that is it!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting!  I hope you are having a wonderful day!

"Black Friday" Card

Good Morning!

Thanksgiving is over and it was wonderful!  Enjoyed the time with my family and of course, I ate way too much food.  Black Friday deals are the most talked about thing at this moment.  I thought that since I don't go out and join the excited crowds in their shopping sprees, I would make a easy card instead.

This card uses the La Vie En Rose Paper Packet and White Daisy Cardstock.  And black ink.

For the flowers I choose  the Someone Special Stamp set

I stamped the sentiment from this stamp set then I took the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder that matches the paper and I just embossed the edges of the strip with the sentiment.

I cut out the flowers and attached.  I did pop up one with Thin 3D Foam Tape and that is it!  I could add embellishments to make it pop but decided that sometimes simple is best!  Have a great rest of the weekend and hopefully next week I can do some more creations!  Hugs!

November workshop cards #3 and #4

Hello,

I thought I better put the other two cards on my blog today. This is for my customers who get the card kits from the workshops that I do. This will show them how to do create the cards when they get their orders!

Remember to click on the links to see everything up close and in detail.

So I will start off with a card that isn't usually thought of as a Christmas color.  When we think of Christmas cards we usually think of red and green and sometimes blue and silver.  This one is none of those colors:

On this card I once again used the Enchantment Fundamental Paper Packet.  I love how I can use both sides to create different effects.

I started by taking  a two inch scallop punch and punching out the corner of the Eggplant color paper from the paper packet.  Then using the circle as a guide,  I then took out the joy stamp from the Holly Jolly Christmas Stamp set and embossed that in the middle of the circle with
Gold Embossing Powder.

Then I took out my Eggplant Ink Pad and the Ink Blot Stamp Set.  I picked one of the stamps and inked it up and stamped it directly over the gold embossed Joy stamp.  And because embossing resists inks, I then took a sponge dauber and dragged the color to the edge of the circle.  I also put some extra ink on the dauber to fill in the joy saying.  You can leave it white if you want but I just wanted to make it stand out a bit more.

I then attached the eggplant paper over the circle and then added a strip of the same fundamentals paper to the front of the card, only I turned it over! Then I added a strip of Eggplant Cardstock that I had sanded to show the white edges underneath it.
I then added a piece of Gold Shimmer Trim on the top of both strips.  Added a few Gold Sequins and a few Bitty Sparkles to finish it up.

I also embossed in gold inside the saying "Wishing you great tidings of comfort and joy!" on the inside from the above Holly Jolly Stamp set!
If you don't like the eggplant color, you can always use a color you love!  Enjoy!

I did not design this card!!  It is from a wonderful Cardmaking kit called  Workshops On The Go White Pines Cardmaking Kit.  It is a kit that includes all the paper, stamp set, card stock, envelopes, twine and sparkles to make 15 cards.  It gives detailed instructions on how to cut and design 5 cards of 3 designs.

If you purchase this workshop kit you will also need 3 stamp pads:
Fern Stamp Pad
Cashmere Stamp Pad
Cranberry Stamp Pad

I changed it up a little bit by doing the embossing on the card with a
Diamond Embossing Folder and using the Mini Stapler to attach the included twine.  These are not included in the kit but can be purchased to go with the kit if you want.

Hope you enjoyed my workshop cards.  Check back next week and see what else I have created!  Have a great weekend!  Hugs!

Workshop card #2

Good Morning!  Welcome to a very, windy Colorado day!  I am thankful however that the sun is shining and it is not snowing!  So because of that I am posting a card that has "snow" on the front.

I started out by taking a piece of Crystal Blue card stock and put it through my embossing machine with our Confetti Embossing folder and our awesome Circle Diffuser.

The diffusers are so fun because you can pick where you want your circle to be and have no embossing in that area.

I then took some matching Crystal Blue Ink and stamped the snowflakes in the circle with no embossing in it.  Then because our paper is white core, I then sanded the dots to resemble "snow" falling down.

I then took the cute penguins from the Seasons Greetings Stamp set and stamped them in black and colored them in with Shinhan Peony Purple Marker and the Shinhan Cerulean Blue Marker and then I cut them out and put them in the little circle.

I stamped the sentiment in black and the took the snowflakes from the above Season's Greetings stamp set and using the crystal blue ink, stamped the snowflakes all over the top.  Attached that to the card and then added some of our adhesive Silver Shimmer trim right underneath it.  Attached the entire card to the front of white cardstock.

Hope you enjoyed seeing this card.  Have a great day!  Hugs!

November stamp of the month- 1st Workshop item

I am not going to go into much detail and I not going to apologize for not posting in a while.  Sometimes things happen in life that no matter how  hard you try, you just can't control them.  A little over a week ago after getting my father home from rehab after a stroke, he passed away from a sudden heart attack.  With taking care of my sweet mom and other things, I am finally back to posting. I have missed not being able to be creative and I have missed not posting. I am not going to guarantee that I will continue to post frequently but I am going to try to post as often as I can.  I will say thank you to those who have stopped by here and there to check it out and wonder why I quit so suddenly.  So here is the first thing we did this week at my workshop:

As you can see, this is not a card! LOL  This November stamp of the month set has the images seen on this as well as other images.  See them here:   Cheers 2016 stamp of the month

I don't normally send out "Happy New Year" cards and I really stink at keeping New years resolutions! SO I thought it would be fun to have a fun place to write new dreams, new wishes, things to be thankful for or memories to not forget.  The list is endless.  You could even use these stamps in your daytimer and scrapbooking as well.  And if you fill up this card, all you have to do is take out this stamp set and do another one!

I bordered the list with Sunset Cardstock and Lagoon Cardstock.  The ink colors that I used are:

Lagoon Stamp pad
Pacifica Stamp Pad (for the lines) and Sunset Stamp pad for banners/stars
Gypsy Ink Pad for the top banner/ other bottom banner.

I also used Enamel and Glitter Duos Purple Hearts Embellishments as well as some Bitty Sparkles to finish it up.

Easy and fun to do!  I have 3 more workshop cards to post, so check back I will be posting them (hopefully) in the next few days.  Have a great evening!  Hugs!

Simple Thank You Card

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I am needing to make some special Thank You cards for those who have so helped me with my Mom and Dad these last few weeks.  I won't name names because you know who you are!  I have a few to do but wanted to show one that I just finished.  I hopefully will have more in the next few days.  We will see.  My father gets home from rehab this week and I will finally have both my parents back in their own home!  I will still be very busy  taking care of them but that is OK!  I have had many blessings and answers to prayers and  I am forever grateful for every one of them!  Don't forget to click on the highlighted links to see everything up close and in detail!  So here is one of my Thank You cards:

For this card I started by using the Sangria Paper Packet and bordering it with the matching Poppy Cardstock

I then took a piece of colonial white cardstock and embossed it with our Chevron Embossing Folder, sponged the edges with the Poppy Ink Pad and then bordered it with the Poppy cardstock and attached to the Sangria Strip of paper.

I then took out my Cricut machine and using the CTMH Cricut Artistry Collection, I cut the flowers out.  The paper used for these flowers is from the Enchantment Paper Fundamentals paper packet. If you look close at the flowers you will see fun little "glossy" accents on the leaves and the flowers.  This paper packet has a printed pattern on one side and glossy on the other side of each piece of paper in the packet.  I love these papers.

I also wanted to let you know that if you have a Cricut Explore and Cricut Explore air, you can purchase the Artistry images at a lower price and all online instead of buying the actual cartridge! You still get all the 700 images but online.  We also have 4 more cartridges that each have at least 700 images to cut out.  You can see the shapes featured in each collection if you visit CloseToMyHeart.com and click on Products and scroll down to Cricut collections and see the images.

I then took out the  A Thousand Thanks Stamp Set and stamped the sentiment with the Poppy ink pad.   Then I finished the card with a few of our embellishments from the Bling Gold Gems Assortment.

Thanks for checking in and seeing what I created today!  I hope to be back soon!  Have a great rest of the week!  Hugs!

Birthday Card- Finally!!

Happy Friday everyone!

I am sorry it has been so long since I have posted.  I have wanted to post many times but life gets in the way sometimes and I had to prioritize and my love of crafting got put on the back burner.  My sweet Mom fell and broke her hip and had surgery and was in rehab.  I was taking care of my Dad with meals, laundry etc.  Then two weeks later while she was still in rehab, my dad had a stroke! So emergency rooms, hospital stay and rehab.  I got my Mom home and my Dad is still in rehab. Hopefully he will be home soon!  I will continue with the meals etc for a while.  So there is a good chance I won't get to do as much with this blog but please don't give up on me and I will post when I can!  So with that here is my card:

I made this card for our boy for his 24th birthday! Now that the birthday is over, I can actually post the card!

This is what the card looks like when opened.

Here is the card when it is closed:

Here is a list of supplies I used for the card:
(You can click on the links to see the products larger and in detail)

Urban Paper Packet

Urban Complements

Enamel and Glitter Dots Blue

Grey Enamel Gems

Bitty Sparkles

The ink colors I used are:  Whisper Ink Pad and Sapphire Ink Pad.  I used our Cricut Art Philosophy Collection to cut out the image under the birthday message.

I also used Ink blot Stamp set and the Sending Love Stamp set.

I hope you enjoy this card and thanks for waiting so patiently for me to post again.  I hope I get the chance to do so again soon!  Until then have a great weekend!  Hugs!

Workshop Card #4 For September

Here is today's card:

As I have mentioned in my previous posts, I dislike making Sympathy cards but this one came together quickly for me.  Now if you don't want to make a sympathy card you can add a different sentiment and it will be just as pretty.

For this card we are using the Stamp of the Month.  Close To My  Heart has stamp of the month sets that are only available for a certain month and then they are gone!  You still have time to purchase this one before the end of the month if you are inclined to do so!  Here is a picture of what the entire set looks like and I love it:
Paper Garden September Stamp of the month

For the Sympathy Sentiment I used Sincere Expressions Stamp Set.

To make this card:
I took a piece of white daisy card stock and stamped the background flower image in Whisper Ink as well as the background under the Sympathy sentiment.

I then took our new Sapphire Ink Pad to stamp the front flower and the sentiment.   I then bordered them in our new Sapphire Cardstock.
Then took two of our Enamel & Glitter Duos Blue Dots to finish up the card.

Simple and Elegant!

Thanks for checking in!  Have a great day!

Workshop Card #3 For September

The card I am sharing today is a fairly easy card to do but I think it turned out very pretty!

I used  two stamp sets for this card. The first one is a new set called Fallen Leaves and other set is called Thankful Heart.

I took a piece of colonial white cardstock and one of the leaves from the Fallen Leaves set and stamped the background leaves in Bamboo Ink.

Then using the Gold Embossing Powder, I embossed the Thanksgiving sentiment.  Then I took a scrap piece of cardstock and embossed the other various leaves and the pumpkin from the above sets.

I then took our new Watercolor paints to paint in the leaves and the pumpkin.  I am having fun learning how to use these paints!

I did not emboss the leaves onto watercolor paper because I wanted the leaves to "curl" up on the edges etc. because that is what Fall leaves do!  I cut them out and attached to the card.  I added a few of the Gold Sequins to finish the card.

Workshop Card #2 For September and Bonus card

Today I get to show you another card that we did for my workshop!  In the new Close To My Heart Expressions supplement there is a stamp set called Steampunk Scoundrels.

I don't normally lean towards these type of stamps but somehow I found this set fascinating and couldn't resist making a card with it! The set has everything listed here as well as a cute "BOO".  Check it out here:
Steampunk Scoundrels Stamp Set

For this card, I started by taking a piece of the new Eggplant Cardstock and the matching Eggplant Ink, I stamped the background with our new Ink Blot Stamp set.  I have a feeling that I am going to have a lot of cards in the future using this ink blot set.   Super easy to use and so fun..can you even imagine all the things you can do with this?                                                                                           How about doing a background in bright colors on scrapbook pages for school pages or writing awards ?

I then took out the new Nevermore Paper Packet and cut two pieces  of paper.  I took my Micro-tip Scissors to distress the edges of the papers and the cardstock to give it a more "Halloween" type of look. Now if you don't want to use the scissors to distress, there is a cool tool called Edge Distresser that works wonderful as well!

I stamped the bat on a scrap piece of white daisy cardstock in black ink and then cut it out.  Sponged the eggplant ink around the edges.  Added some 3 D Foam Tape to the back to make it look like it was flying.  Stamped the spider and the Happy Halloween in black and attached to the card.  Finished it up adding a few of the Silver Sequins.

Now for those who might not like the above card and want something a bit less scary and more cute.  I used the same above pattern but used a totally different  stamp set.  I used the Trick or Treats Sweets Stamp Set on the following card:

I did use a piece of ribbon that I found in my stash of ribbons from a long time ago instead of the sequins.  I attached it with mini staples using the cute Mini Stapler.

I also used the same paper as above only the reverse side of the striped paper instead.

The funny thing is that everyone liked the first card just fine and wanted to make it!  That is what I get for thinking that someone "probably" wouldn't like the new stamp set above! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and checking this out.  Look for workshop cards #3 and #4 coming soon!

Workshop Card #1 for September

Good Evening!  Today I am showcasing the first workshop card that my stamp club created.

Started with a base of Whisper Cardstock and then added some of the background texture paper from the Zoe Paper Pack.

I then took a piece of Sweet Leaf Cardstock and embossed it with the Confetti Stars Embossing Folder and because the cardstock has the white core, I sanded them a bit to make the stars stand out.

I took a small piece of White Daisy cardstock and stamped the Hello  with the Sorbet Ink from the card making set from the Hello! Life National Card making set and then I embossed it with the above embossing folder.  I attached it to a larger piece of Sorbet Cardstock.

Using the above stamp set I stamped the tag with the sorbet ink and to make the "friend" stamp stand out I used the mini Glacier pigment ink pad from the Whimsy Mini Pigment Ink Pad Set.  They are a thicker and brighter colors in my opinion.  I cut out the stars with my Cricut and stamped them in Sweet Leaf Ink.  I used the Glacier Ink Pad to sponge all the edges of the white daisy and the background paper. Then attached all the pieces together.  Thanks for stopping by.  Check back for more workshop cards in the next few days. Hugs!

Autumn Card

Good Afternoon!  I didn't like it when I woke up this morning and it was dark outside.  Then in a little while I saw the most beautiful sunrise!  I then had to acknowledge that Fall  is on it's way because the days are getting cooler and the leaves on our trees are starting to change colors.  So for today, here is my Fall card to share:

I started by using Kraft Cardstock and I embossed it with a Wood grain embossing folder.

I then cut a 4 inch colonial white circle and then I cut a 3 3/4 circle from Fern Cardstock and using our Piercing Tool I punched little holes all around the circle to make it stand out and then I attached  that to the middle of the large circle.

I then stamped the tree from the Always Grateful Stamp set in Saddle Ink on the colonial cardstock and layered it with the Kraft Cardstock.

I then took the Fern Ink Pad and lightly colored it in with a cotton swab!  Then I took the Poppy Ink Pad and using a cotton swab again to give it a little bit of colors to make it look like the leaves are turning red like my maple trees in our back yard!

I then took the colonial white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the above listed stamp set.  I attached that to our beautiful glossy Poppy paper from the Paper Fundamentals Enchantment set and attached to the middle of the circle.  I then added a couple of our cute Durables Artisan Studs to finish the card.
Note:  If you are planning on sending this card in the mail, you might not want to include the Artisan embellishments.  They are heavy and they are sort of thick and won't go through the mail, unless you maybe put it in a padded envelope.  Hand delivering is fine though!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great rest of the week!

Birthday Card with No Stamping

Happy Friday everyone!

Today's card is done by using our brand new Close To My Heart Cricut Cartridge and our new watercolors!  I made two of these cards. One for my wonderful husband for his birthday and one for a dear friend.  I used two different color schemes. I am only showing one of the cards.  The one I made for my husband:

This kind of took out of my "comfort" zone by not doing any stamping on the front.  But it is good to get out of the comfort zone once in a while!

I used our Cricut Artistry Collection to cut out the cake, the candles, the Happy Birthday and the triangle background.

I used our brand new Watercolor Paints to color underneath the triangle cut out.  I attached that to our Sunset Cardstock

Did you know that all of our patterned background texture paper has these cool little strips of paper attached to the top, that you cut off and use for borders, accents etc. and still have the true 12 X 12 size paper to use? We call these zip strips!  I cut the cute little dots off the top of our new Kaleidoscope Paper Packet to use as a accent strip for the bottom of the card.  I thought it went well with the watercolors I used!

I attached a couple of our new Enamel and Glitter Duos Green Triangles and a couple of our cute little White Enamel Stars to finish up the card!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend!

Non Card day

Good Morning Everyone!  The posting today is not a card!  I had so much fun making this project for  part of her birthday present that I just had to share.  Some of the items were in last years catalog and some from the local hobby store.  I have seen other people make this same thing using the same idea and they were much more detailed and very beautiful.
Even though I still like the way mine turned out:

I used the Scaredy Cat  paper (that we no longer sell..sorry)  but if you have some fun Halloween paper, you can cut out stuff from that.  I also used our Cricut Artfully Sent Cartridge Collection and our Cricut Artbooking Collection to cut out the cute haunted house, scary tree and spider web and spiders.

I did use our Black Glitter Paper to cut out the Spiders and Spider web.

I bought the paper letters from the local hobby store and spray painted them black then traced and attached the background paper then had loads of fun cutting out the designs front the paper for the front.  I added some of the spider webbing that you get for Halloween. Now my friend can sit it anywhere in her house to enjoy.  So go dig out your old papers and use up some of your stash and decorate your house!  I hope you enjoyed my "non-card" creation today.  Have a great week!

Card using National Stamping Month Special

Hello!

I promised you earlier that I would post a card using one of the three stamp sets that are being offered by Close To My Heart for National Stamping month!  Here is what they look like:  Hello Life National Stamping Month Sets.  There is one set designed for scrapbooking, one for card making and one for pocket scrapbooking!  I could have used the one for card making since I am making a card but wanted to show   that you can use all of these stamp sets for card making! Today's set is the one used for pocket scrapbooking.

Here is the card:

I also used our brand new stamp set called Fallen Leaves that has just been released.

I used stamp pads:  Saffron Ink PadFern Ink Pad and Saddle Ink Pad.

I used our new Fern color from the Enchantment Paper Fundamentals Collection as a background paper.

Then I took some of our watercolor paper and used our new Watercolor Paints and painted the background colors.  Then stamped the leaves on the paper after it was dried.  Love that look.  I am so super excited about these paints!  The colors are so rich and beautiful!  There is going to be a lot of things created with these beautiful paints in this upcoming year!

Added the leaves and then a few of our sequins and I am done!  Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!  Hugs!

My goal is to have a super cute card made with one of these stamp sets by Friday..so check back then. But until then I will share a fun card that I created.

This card was made by cutting out the image with our Cricut Artfully Sent Collection using Pixie Cardstock and putting our beautiful Purple Glitter Paper behind the cut out image.

I then stamped the Happy Anniversary sentiment using our Finding The Words Stamp Set and the Thistle Ink Stamp pad.

I then layered it on to our Thistle Cardstock.  Finished it by adding a few of our Bitty Sparkles which I now store in our Brand New Accessory Roll Up.  It is soo cute and so compact and handy!

August Stamp of the month Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone!

I have been waiting and waiting to show you this card but I made it for my special friend's birthday and couldn't show you until I actually sent it to her!  Now her birthday is over and I can share!

This card is also using the Framed August Stamp of the month set that I introduced earlier in the month.  I used the frame and the Happy Birthday from this set.

I am also using the brand new Zoe Paper Packet from our upcoming new Close To My Heart Catalog that comes live on September 1st!  You will LOVE it!

I used the Shower Flowers Stamp set for the flowers.

I used the Sorbet and Pigment ink from the Whimsey Mini Pigment Ink Set along with the  Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder to create that shiny, glossy look on the Frame and the Flowers/leaves.

I also added some of our brand new Coral Shimmer Trim.  I used the
Dot Embossing Folder and the Clear Sparkles to make the flowers pop!

Easy Birthday Card

Good Morning!

Today's card is a very easy birthday card.  I was in a crazy mood and choose colors that I normally wouldn't use for a birthday card.  I tend to lean towards primary colors or very bright cards to celebrate birthdays because I think birthdays should be fun!  I usually add sparkles, or embellishments to brighten the card up as well. But today I didn't do any of those things and think it turned out good.  Hope you enjoy it.

I used the Brushstrokes Stamp Set for the background.  The colors I used are:  Lagoon Stamp padCanary Stamp Pad and the Gypsy Stamp Pad for the background colors.

I also used these same colors for the birthday cake and stand as well as the Sunset Stamp Pad.  I also used the Sunset stamp pad to sponge around the edges of the card.

I used the Build-a-Cake Stamp set for the cake.

I cut some tiny cute flowers with the Cricut Art Philosophy Collection and sponged the edges with the corresponding inks.  I then took a fine line black journaling pen and made the border around the edges of the card and then drew little black middles to the flowers and then I took the Liquid glass and put a tiny dot on the candle flame and the middle of the flowers to give them a little bit of  sparkle and shine.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing my card.  Have a great day!  Hugs!

Thanks oodles card

It is already Wednesday?  Just where did Monday and Tuesday go?  Ah well..see you never know when I am going to post and so you can be surprised!  LOL

I don't know if you are like me, but sometimes I get a stamp set and use a couple of stamps from the set and then put it away and don't use all of the stamps on the set.  So I challenged myself to look through some of my sets and find a stamp on set that I haven't used.  This is result of that.  I had used the message and the butterfly on another card  but not the cute flower stamp from this set.  ** Remember to click on the links so you can see the stamp sets and products used in detail.**

I used the Capture The Day stamp set for the flowers and and I used the  Oodles of Doodles Stamp set for the thanks sentiment.

I also used our Score Board to do the lines on the front and to line up the flowers.

Colored the flower chain with our Shinhan markers.  I also used some of our Pixie Extra Thick Twine and some of our Bitty Sparkles to make it pop!

Thanks for stopping by!  Check back later for more creations!  Hugs!

Sympathy Card

Today I am showing a sympathy card.

I do not like to do sympathy cards.  I love making all kinds of cards.  Sympathy cards are hard! I never know what to say and knowing that the reason I am making one to send to someone because they are sad makes it even harder.

I know the reason to make it a card like this is to share your love and concern but it is always tempting to go out and buy a card instead of trying to figure out what to make and to say! Since I have a whole room of card making supplies the idea of going out to spend even more money on a store bought card really doesn't make a lot of sense!  So with that in mind here is the card I came up with:

I used our new Framed August stamp of the month.  I love this new set.  I has nine fun sentiments to go inside three very cute frames.  Once I started using this set, I am finding lots of excuses to use it!

I also used stamp set Sincere Expressions for the inside sentiment  of the frame.

I cut the front of the card out with our Cricut Cartridge Artfully Sent Collection.  The inside of the card I used a piece of background paper from our Seaside Paper Packet.  I love this paper and will miss it when it become unavailable at the end of the month!

I stamped the label from the above set with our  Desert Sand Stamp Pad and the Sympathy Sentiment with our Glacier Stamp Pad.  I took a scrap piece of the 12 X 12 Glacier Cardstock and ran it through the Chevron Embossing Folder and sanded it a bit to get the white core to slightly show through.  Took small strip of our 12 X 12 Desert Sand Cardstock and sanded that as well to put on the top.  Added a few of our Gold Sequins  to finish the card.

Thank you for looking today.  Have a great weekend!  Hugs!

Pretty Petals Card

Good afternoon!  I am back once again sharing my cards.  It has been a fun and crazy week.  I have been hard at work finishing up my backlog of card kits that I have accumulated over the years and I think I am almost done!  Whoo hoo!  I'm am not posting pictures of the kits to my blog because they are no longer available for purchase and I might decide to use some of them for gifts in the future!

I have also had the privilege of helping my oldest son and his wife pack up the truck for their new adventure to moving to a different state.  My son will be pursuing a Masters degree and my daughter-in-law a teaching job at a local elementary.  So fun for them.

Now I am back in the swing of things!  So for today's card I will be showing a simple little Thank You card.

I used Pretty Petals Stamp Set for the flowers.

I also dug through my stash of stuff and found these cute little buttons. I remember years ago when buttons were all the rage and I just couldn't resist adding them to a card. I realize that it would be hard to mail them but since I am planning on giving this card instead of mailing it. No problem!

I used the Crystal Blue color and the Smoothie color of our Paper Fundamental Whimsey Assortment on the front of the card. These papers are two-sided.  One side with a white design and on the other side a glossy design.  So much fun to play with.

I stamped the flowers with Crystal Blue Stamp padSmoothie Stamp pad and the leaves with our Sweet Leaf Stamp pad.

I took our Score Board and did the top right corner of the card with some lines to give a dimensional element to it.

I hope you like this card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!   Hugs!

Simple Thank You

Good Afternoon!  I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday!

Sometimes I like to take a stamp set that is originally designed for a certain season and use it for a totally different season.  This stamp set was originally used for Fall and using a new color I was able to show that it can be used for any season!

I saw this card sketch on another web site and thought it was cute and decided to "stamp lift" it.  I changed it around a bit, added my own stamps, paper etc.  and came up with this.  I wish I could remember which site it was so I could properly give the correct person who came up with the design the credit!  So, if it was you..please accept my apology and thanks for sharing it so I could create as well!

Remember to click on the links to see the items used in detail!

I used the Happy Autumn Stamp set for the flowers and the stamp set from  our Pathfinding Card Making Kit for the Thanks.

I used Thistle Ink Pad and our matching Thistle Cardstock.

I then added our Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon to the front.

I also used our Floral Embossing Folder to emboss the background piece of white card stock.  And used the Thistle ink pad to put a slight bit of color to the edges before I popped it up with 3-D foam tape.

Finished by adding a few of our Purple Glitter Gems.   Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the weekend!  Hugs!

Friendship Card

Today's card is about friendship.

I made this card while I was thinking of how blessed I am to have friends.

I consider myself very, very lucky to have the friends that I have. I know that if I ever need anything they will be there for me.  I have leaned on them when things are tough and I know I can ask for support and prayers at any time day or night and they will do it. They have laughed, cried and been happy for me and my family.  So for all of you, this card is for you!

I used a Close To My Heart stamp set called Fabulous You.

I used our beautiful Shinhan markers to color the image.

I used the New England Ivy colored patterned paper from the Enchantment Paper Fundamentals paper packet. I also used the back of this paper for the green ribbon on the bottom of the card.

I used the New England Ivy Cardstock for the border around the image.

Using the Dot Embossing Folder, I embossed the message ribbon and the side border.

I also used Red Shimmer trim and Black Sparkles to make it pop!  I hope you enjoyed this card.  Thanks for stopping by!  Hugs!
